The company’s origins trace back to Stratford, Connecticut, where co-founders Bill Shufelt and John Walker began brewing on homebrew equipment. That breakthrough led to the creation of the first-ever brewery devoted solely to non-alcoholic beer. This innovative move positioned Athletic Brewing at the forefront of the industry. Today, the brand operates out of two dedicated facilities—one on each coast, in Connecticut and San Diego—making it one of just two breweries in the world exclusively focused on non-alcoholic beer.
