About Lord Hobo

Woburn, Massachusetts

Established in 2015 by the entrepreneurial spirit of Daniel Lanigan, Lord Hobo Brewing made its mark during the burgeoning popularity of the New England style IPA across the Northeast. When other breweries were favoring a direct-to-consumer approach, narrowing the accessibility of this highly sought-after beer style, Lanigan saw an opportunity to brew and distribute NE IPAs to a broader audience.

Lanigan’s experience as a restaurateur underpinned his understanding of the crucial role of bars and restaurants within the beer ecosystem, and the importance of cultivating strong relationships with brewery partners. Adhering to this founding ethos, Lord Hobo Brewing remains devoted to backing both its retail and hospitality partners, aspiring to be their most dependable collaborator.

With the evolution of the beer industry, Lord Hobo Brewing too has evolved, accepting challenges and adapting to the shifting landscape. The brewery now presents an impressive array of seven year-round beers, supplemented by a regularly changing selection of innovative ales and lagers. In 2020 alone, Lord Hobo Brewing released an impressive tally of 78 beers, made available both in its taproom and across various markets it serves.

From the onset, Lord Hobo Brewing knew it wanted to think big and not be constricted by space, leading to the choice of a sizable facility. Over the past five years, the company has upgraded from a Wild Goose canning line to a Krones filler, capable of canning up to 250 cans per minute. Enhancements also include the addition of two grain silos, 40 fermenters, seven bright tanks, and a shiny new centrifuge. The current facilities provide a maximum annual output capacity of 240,000 barrels of beer, a benchmark Lord Hobo Brewing constantly pushes itself to attain.

Significant investments have been made in the on-site laboratory, allowing Lord Hobo Brewing to monitor all aspects of the beer’s journey, including its maturation. The company maintains a beer library for aged sensory analysis, which ensures the continuous quality monitoring of each of its beers. Armed with a comprehensive quality assurance process and advanced sensory equipment, Lord Hobo Brewing can quickly identify and rectify any quality issues that may emerge.

    Tastes like beer!

First NA I’ve tasted that tastes like a good beer. Not watery. Just the right amount of citrus. Will be coming back to this one again and again.

Light, clean and tasty NA IPA option

Lemongrass nose. Bitterness and grass notes up front. Nice biscuity malt balance but still a clean finish without any lingering sweetness. Solid bodied but could use a little more punchiness on the hop profile and a little more flavor on the finish (touch empty). Still quite tasty.

    Smooth!

Smooth and easy drinking while still delivering some of the trademark notes IPAs are known for!

Smooth, clean and refreshing. I do not drink alcohol but when I did my go to was IPA. In recent years the craft beer industry has upped the quality and marketing of NA beers and many good NA IPAs have been brewed. I would consider Life NA IPA one of the better beers I have found. I will definitely stock my fridge with Life NA IPA.
