Athletic ESB

Athletic Brewing Co. has carved out a leading role in the non-alcoholic craft beer scene, transforming perceptions with their dedication to top-tier flavor and uncompromising quality. Driven by the belief that great beer shouldn’t mean sacrificing health, performance, or taste, the brewery offers a wide range of styles that suit just about any palate or occasion. Their lineup is designed to be enjoyed by anyone, anytime—no alcohol required.

The company’s origins trace back to Stratford, Connecticut, where co-founders Bill Shufelt and John Walker began brewing on homebrew equipment. After experimenting with over 100 recipes, they discovered the perfect balance of taste and quality. That breakthrough led to the creation of the first-ever brewery devoted solely to non-alcoholic beer. This innovative move positioned Athletic Brewing at the forefront of the industry. Today, the brand operates out of two dedicated facilities—one on each coast, in Connecticut and San Diego—making it one of just two breweries in the world exclusively focused on non-alcoholic beer.

What sets Athletic Brewing apart is its proprietary brewing process. Eschewing traditional methods used for alcohol removal, the team developed a unique approach that allows them to create full-flavored, non-alcoholic beers without compromise. From golden ales and hop-forward IPAs to rich stouts and vibrant sours, their offerings reflect the creativity and depth typically found in the craft beer world.

Among their most recognized brews are Upside Dawn Golden Ale, Run Wild IPA, and All Out Stout—each showcasing the brewery’s knack for balancing complexity with drinkability. As Athletic Brewing continues to innovate, they remain a driving force behind the movement proving that non-alcoholic beer can be every bit as satisfying and exciting as traditional craft brews.
