This scholarly approach, coupled with an honest trial-and-error method, has helped the brewery develop a vetted, proficient way of brewing their unique selection of beverages.
So, how does Leader Brewing make non-alcoholic beer? In essence, the non-alcoholic beer is crafted using one of two methods: brewing it in the usual way and then removing the alcohol, or stopping the alcohol even before it forms. The first procedure can be quite costly, requiring specialized equipment which often exceeds the cost of the brewhouse equipment itself. The second methodology is complicated because it requires the brewer to curtail or halt certain chemical processes while allowing others to function unhindered.
In line with this challenge, Leader Brewing uses an exclusive blend of techniques which might include some ‘witchcraft’, right from the recipe formulation to packaging. This careful approach is employed to achieve the desired flavor and aroma profiles while ensuring the alcoholic content always stays below the 0.5% ABV mark. This enables Leader Brewing to provide their customers with what’s essentially considered non-alcoholic or ‘near beer’.
