About Appalachian Pale

Ah’m Parched Appalachian Pale by Bright Barrel is a hazy brew crafted to quench summer thirst. Its flavor profile features earthy and piney notes, enhanced by the crisp citrus zest of Chinook hops and a burst of tropical fruit from Azacca hops. This non-alcoholic pale ale finishes clean and refreshing, offering the full-bodied complexity of a classic IPA—minus the alcohol.

About Bright Barrel

Boone, North Carolina

Bright Barrel, a brewery rooted in resilience, health, and adventure, was founded by Caleb Drown and Brian Garrison, two individuals with distinct but complementary journeys. Their mission is simple yet profound: to craft exceptional non-alcoholic beer that mirrors the spirit of the Appalachian region and inspires a balanced, vibrant lifestyle.

Caleb Drown, a Marine-turned-humanitarian and entrepreneur, has a personal history that shaped Bright Barrel’s foundation. During his military service, alcohol served as a means of camaraderie, but it lingered into his civilian life, leading to unhealthy patterns. Determined to reclaim his well-being, Caleb embraced recovery, faith, and the power of community. As he cut back on drinking, he longed for the depth of flavor found in great beer. Flavored water couldn’t replace it, but his perspective shifted when his sister introduced him to craft non-alcoholic beer.

A new appreciation for health and fitness emerged as Caleb trained for a triathlon in the scenic Appalachian mountains. He discovered the joy of savoring a non-alcoholic beer after rigorous workouts—an electrolyte-rich, refreshing beverage without alcohol’s downsides. This experience sparked his vision: creating non-alcoholic craft beer for adventurers and health-conscious individuals. In 2023, Bright Barrel was born to fulfill this dream.

Brian Garrison joined Caleb in 2024, bringing entrepreneurial expertise and a shared passion for improving lives. A native of Western North Carolina, Brian grew up embracing hard work and determination, values instilled by his family. After building a successful insurance business, Brian met Caleb during a consultation. Their shared vision for Bright Barrel became evident through continued conversations, leading Brian to become a co-founder.

Together with a skilled brewing team, Caleb and Brian have crafted an array of non-alcoholic beers that don’t compromise on flavor or quality. Their dedication shines in each batch, reflecting the ethos of the Appalachian spirit: bold, adventurous, and community-focused.

Bright Barrel’s mission goes beyond brewing. It’s about celebrating life’s journeys with a clear mind and a healthy body, offering a flavorful alternative to alcohol without sacrificing the joy of a great beer. Whether training for a triathlon, hiking through the Appalachians, or simply relaxing after a long day, Bright Barrel invites everyone to raise a glass to life’s adventures.
